Simple Moves for Self Defense
Women need to feel safe in
every type of situation. In order for that to happen, Linda Azarela
recommends that you learn a bit of practical self defense.
She will teach us simple
but effective moves that we can do without training, special
equipment, or special clothing.
We’ll be doing some moves
during the meeting, but they’ll be the types of moves you can do
anytime, anywhere, in any situation. So come in your street clothes,
your dress clothes, whatever you wear to work.
Our presenter, Linda Azarela,
has achieved a 2nd degree Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do. She
has also taught Karate.
Linda is CEO of Azarela
Commercial Driving Schools in West Dundee and Elgin. She’s instructed
over 8,000 students in her 27 year career. She incorporates self
defense in her Driver’s Ed program so that every graduate will be able
to defend themselves once they’re out on the road (you’ve heard of
road rage?).
Linda teaches self defense
to women in the local community—she feels it is imperative that women
and children know how to defend themselves in all situations.

Wine and Chocolate Tasting
at
WineStyles
(located on Randall Rd north of Algonquin Rd)
The
cost for the wine and chocolate tasting is $15. The chocolate will be
from Morkes Chocolate. Sheri Miranda of OHM will be available for
chair massages $1 per minute. WLN is a networking group that has been
meeting for over four years. The group meets on the second Wednesday
of every month in the Algonquin area at 5:30 pm. The meetings include
dinner, speaker and plenty of networking. Every third meeting is a
progressive meeting. It’s a great way to network with women in the
area.
